the Palos Verdes Peninsula hills southwest of our Carson base

Wind and salt air off the Pacific wear through plain steel caps and dampers fast up here. The technician photographs every metal part on the roof and shows you the rust spots close up during the walkthrough. That is part of how we set the timeline, choose materials, and decide what gets flagged in the report we leave with you.
Most Rancho Palos Verdes appointments include step flashing and counter flashing repair, cricket installation for wide chimneys, and lead and aluminum flashing options. We walk you through what we found before packing up and note anything worth handling ahead of the next heating season.

our home base in the eastern South Bay
Hearthly Chimney Sweep is based in Carson, so most of our days start here. A lot of Carson houses went up in the 1960s and 1970s and still have the brick fireplace or factory-built unit they were built with. On a first visit the technician expects some creosote and tired mortar, checks both, and shows you the photos at the hearth before packing up.
View nearby cityLong Beach, just east of our Carson base
Long Beach has some of the oldest houses we work on, including Craftsman bungalows from the 1910s and 1920s with unreinforced brick chimneys. On those visits the technician spends longer on the mortar and the flue liner, and before leaving they show you exactly which joints or tiles they are keeping an eye on and why.
View nearby cityTorrance, west of Carson in the central South Bay
Torrance is next door to our Carson base and one of our most regular stops. Many houses here were built between the 1950s and the 1980s with a factory-built fireplace, and hillside homes near the Palos Verdes hills can have taller chimneys that take longer to reach. The technician says how long the visit should run when they arrive, then keeps to the order: roof first, firebox last.
View nearby cityRedondo Beach, from North Redondo down to the Riviera
In Redondo Beach a lot of fireplaces are factory-built units, and those take parts made for that model. The technician finds the label inside the firebox early in the visit, photographs it, and tells you before leaving whether anything needs ordering. Older beach houses with brick get the same roof-down check.
View nearby cityRolling Hills Estates on the upper Peninsula
Rolling Hills Estates houses often sit well back on big lots, some with riding trails behind them, so the technician sorts out parking and a safe ladder spot before unloading. Many homes here have traditional brick chimneys with their original clay flue tiles, and the camera is what shows you how those tiles look at the end of the visit.
